Top Previous Next

A tubular lining of a borehole inserted to ensure borehole stability and integrity.

A pipe, usually made of steel or PVC, installed in a borehole to prevent the borehole from collapsing and surface contamination, prevent water of undesirable quality entering the borehole.  Casing also prevents fines from entering the borehole and is used to separate aquifers from each other.

Why is borehole casing important?

Casing is a crucial component in the construction of any borehole.
