The regular or routine sampling, analysis and evaluation of one or more elements of the groundwater resource for a specific objective(s).


Groundwater monitoring is a formal process of regularly collecting groundwater data (e.g. water levels, quality, rainfall, abstraction), and analysing it to observe groundwater trends until monitoring objectives are met.
