CRITERIA AND RULES

Criteria to be used for judging nominations

    Community projects that involve or are led by women and support the national objectives of the Department. 

            Qualifying categories:

    • Public Organisations

    • Private Sector

    • Women led Community Projects

    • Research and Educational Institutes

    • Young Women and Girls

    • Community

    • Individual Women

    • Women Groups

    Oganisations that encourage and create conditions for Women and Women Groups more actively involved in all areas of the Water and Forestry Sectors.

            Qualifying categories:

    • Public Organisations

    • Private Sector

    • Research and Educational Institutes

    • Community

    • Women Groups

    Public and Private Organisations in Water and Forestry that promote the interests of women in the sector by creating employment, entrepreneurial and other opportunities.

    Qualifying categories:

    • Public Organisations

    • Private Sector

    Individuals, Groups and Organisations that encourage and support young women and girls to consider Water and Forestry related fields when choosing their careers by availing bursaries, study opportunities and other opportunities including leanerships and interships.

                Qualifying categories:

    • Public Organisations

    • Private Sector

    • Women led Community Projects

    • Research and Educational Institutes

    • Young Women and Girls

    • Community

    • Individual Women

    • Women Groups

    Organisations that promote innovative and sustainable solutions to water management and forestry by women and groups.

    Qualifying categories:

    • Public Organisations

    • Private Sector

    • Research and Educational Institutes

Rules

  • The closing date for submission of nominations is 27 July 2008, with the judges' decision being final.

  • Only completed application forms will be accepted and must include a 500 - 1000 word motivation about the contribution or role of the nominee in the water sanitation or forestry sector.

  • The award winners will be announced at the WiWF Awards Ceremony on 29 August 2008.

  • Hand-delivered, faxed, electronic and posted application forms will be accepted.

  • More than one category may be selected.

  • The same rules and procedure apply, when nominating oneself.
