Wetland Awareness and Delineation Course
As part of the rollout of the recently completed "A practical field procedure for the identification and delineation of Wetland and Riparian areas" (DWAF, 2005), two courses were run on behalf of DWAF: SFRA. The aim of these courses was to develop capacity regarding wetland and riparian zone awareness, as well as the technical skills in wetland delineation, at the Regional Office level. The National Water Act provides legal protection for the country's water resources, but for this legislation to be effected, regional staff must be trained in wetland AND riparian awareness, identification and delineation. Several courses were held from 31 Jan to 3 April 2007, throughout the country. wetland awareness and delineation course schedule.pdf
